Azion Celebrates a 2023 Full of Achievements

The end of the year is traditionally a time for reflection, when we look back at the challenges we faced and goals we surpassed over the past 12 months and prepare for the upcoming cycle. And for us at Azion, 2023 was particularly notable, as we gained recognition and won several awards, nationally and internationally.

These awards confirm our leadership position in the industry and are a testament to the relentless and tireless dedication of our team to meet and exceed our customers’ expectations. Join us in looking back at our main achievements in 2023.

Internationally Recognized Leadership and Technical Ability

In May, we were recognized as a Great Place to Work. This achievement reflects the positive impact of our company’s culture values—called the Azion Way of Life—and its commitment and dedication to creating a collaborative, innovative, agile, responsible, and welcoming environment, with a sense of ownership and excellence. On top of that, we were ranked 38th in the ranking of best companies to work for in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil.

In August, we were recognized as a Market Leader and Fast Mover in the GigaOm Radar report on Edge Platforms. This recognition reflects our continuous effort to provide developers, security specialists, and infrastructure teams with a robust platform and the necessary solutions to build and run applications at the edge, closer to end users.

Azion stood out as the only platform specifically created for edge computing whose capabilities fulfill all the essential criteria outlined in the report. GigaOm highlighted our adherence to open standards, allowing developers to reuse existing code; comprehensive features for application and content delivery; robust security measures and secure access control; and the thriving Azion Marketplace community.

In October, we were awarded the 2023 North American New Product Innovation Award from Frost & Sullivan in the Edge Serverless Computing category. This award is given annually to the company that has developed an innovative element in a product, leveraging cutting-edge technologies. It acknowledges the value-added features and benefits of the product and the increased return on investment (ROI) it provides to customers, which in turn increases customer acquisition and overall market penetration potential.

“Using Azion’s modern platform to bring applications from the cloud to the edge will increase speed and resilience to unexpected challenges while reducing costs. Furthermore, Azion’s edge serverless platform increases business agility by simplifying processes that empower developers to build and scale their global apps without the need to rework low-level infrastructure or operating systems,” said Michael Valenti, senior industry analyst at Frost & Sullivan.

At the end of November, Azion’s edge platform was the winner in the Scaleup category of the Santander X Global Challenge | Cyberprotect the future, competing with 250 startups and scaleups from 11 countries around the world. The award was given during the 2023 edition of the Web Summit in Lisbon, Portugal, held from November 11 to 14.

It is a recognition of the robustness of our set of programmable security solutions, used by large banks, financial institutions, and e-commerce platforms, which provides our clients with the ability to protect themselves from attacks and vulnerabilities in real-time.

Finally, in December, Azion was named a Strong Performer in The Forrester Wave™: Edge Development Platforms, Q4 2023. The report evaluated 12 of the most important edge platforms in the market through a thorough analysis to help application development and delivery professionals choose the best option for their needs.

Among the companies analyzed, Azion received the fourth highest score in the Runtime Execution Environment criterion, one of the highest scores in the Programming Model criterion, and the maximum score in the Observability criterion.

According to the report, “Azion’s platform reflects its market positioning, which aims to enable developers from large companies to build and deploy full-stack applications on an edge infrastructure managed by Azion. Its vision and approach to the market align with current major trends, with a focus on open standards, allowing developers to bring pre-existing development tools and practices to the edge, reducing the operational overhead typically associated with managing distributed applications.”

“These awards validate the work we do and the value we deliver, and they also motivate us to find new ways to help customers thrive at the edge,” said Rafael Umann, Azion’s CEO.
