With the rise in cyberattacks and passage of new data security and privacy laws, finding a secure service provider for your applications and websites has never been more important. That’s why we at Azion have invested in validating our security controls to assure our customers that the applications and websites delivered by our edge platform are kept safe and available. Earlier this year, we provided customers with added assurance for the security of our platform with SOC 2 Type 2 compliance. And today, we are pleased to announce that our customers can request access to this independent audit of our security and availability controls with the attainment of our SOC 3 report.
SOC 2 and SOC 3 are standards for audits and reporting procedures that have been developed by the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA) to ensure that service providers are taking the necessary steps to maintain data security and privacy. SOC 2 is composed of five “trust service principles” that serve as a backbone for secure data management. SOC 2 reports give service providers an industry-standard way to demonstrate to their customers their ability to protect their platform and the data processed and managed on it. And with SOC 3, Azion provides added transparency into our SOC 2 Type II compliance by making information about our internal controls on security and availability accessible to customers.
Azion’s SOC 2 Type II compliance was evaluated on two different trust principles: security and availability. This third-party evaluation assessed our platform’s ability to prevent unauthorized access, security breaches, and other security-related issues. Azion’s SOC 3 and SOC 2 Type 2 reports covering the Security and Availability trust service principles are generated once per year by KPMG.
